Just a short note about my experience with the Respire Dental Appliance I currently use in place of my C-PAP which I have been wearing for over 11 year. I was looking for an alternative when I saw Dr. Dupree’s advertisement for the respire dental appliance indicating it’s advantages and possible replacement of the C-PAP device. It took almost a year for me to finally decide to go to his office and see what it was all about. I was still not sure if the appliance would really work even after all of the testing and fitting process until I actually received my appliance and used it for the first time. For me it worked even better than advertised: To begin with I am no longer wear a mask or any thing like a mask attached to a hose attached to an air pump. I sleep better than ever and more sound, feel better and more rested the next morning, and the appliance is easy put in place and to remove and is comfortable to wear. I now sleep freely with unrestricted movement and my wife is also most appreciative as it allows her to sleep more soundly as a result of air not blowing on her ( especially her face) and hearing the sound of air escaping from the mask. I have placed the C-PAP in storage and have no intention of using it again.
I would also like to thank Dr. Dupree and his staff for their patience, knowledge, and professionalism in answering all of my questions especially during the testing and fitting of the respire dental appliance.
Thanks so much.
My name is Angie Parker. I am wife to Adam Parker and this is my review on the mouth piece my husband has been wearing for the past 6 months or so.
I am very impressed with the results we are seeing from the mouthpiece. We noticed results the very first time Adam ware it. It instantly stopped his snoring. He was a very loud snorer before the mouthpiece and actually had to sleep in a separate bedroom for over a year because I just couldn’t get any sleep with him in the same room. Honestly, he still kept me up sleeping in the room next to mine bc his snoring was so loud that I could hear him through the wall. Before the mouthpiece, my husband Adam claimed to feel tired all day long; even if he had slept through the night. He said he felt like “I hadn’t slept at all.” So the mouthpiece was greatly needed to help us both get some much needed good quality sleep. Since Adam started wearing the mouthpiece, he says he wakes up feeling like he’s gotten much better sleep. Being a nurse, I’m confident that his more restful sleep is due to the mouthpiece’s ability to stop his snoring and let his mind and body get the oxygen it needs. However, I will say that it took about a week for my husband to get use to the mouthpiece and if he gets any sort of upper respiratory illness then he will slightly snore. His snoring is so mild when he’s sick, that I can just put in ear plugs and not here it. So overall, we r amazed at results we r receiving from the mouthpiece. It has truly helped us get some higher quality rest and has allowed us to once again sleep in the same room.
Thank u to u and your staff.
Dr. Dupree, I would just like you to know how much difference the Respire appliance has made to my sleep. About 2 1/2 years ago I was diagnosed with moderate to severe obstructive sleep apnea. Initially, I used a CPAP machine; and I used it every night. It did alleviate my symptoms, but for a laundry list of reasons I did not like it at all.
I then discovered that you worked with sleep apnea and the Respire appliance. I was subsequently fitted and can honestly say that for me, the results were similar to CPAP – without all the shortcomings.
I have been using the appliance for a little over 2 years now, and sleep all night most nights and actually wake up easily and refreshed.
I can’t imagine going to sleep without it.
